Recreational Activities

You may wish to start your day at Amelia Island Plantation with an invigorating work out at the Health and Fitness Center.  Or get your blood flowing with an outdoor bike ride.  One of the best ways to explore the Plantation is by bicycle, and bike rentals are available.  The plantation can also arrange sailing and fishing charters for your enjoyment.

Amelia Island Plantation has a Nature Center with a resident naturalist, books, and more, including hands-on programs available to the public for adults and children.  They also offer trips to places like Okeefeenokee Swamp and Cumberland Island.

Pristine Beaches

Amelia Island Plantation boasts over three miles of  beachfront!  Besides boogie boarding in the surf and catching some rays, or swimming in the oceanfront pool, there are many planned activities for kids of varying ages on Amelia Island Plantation.  You can even take a horseback ride on the beach on the south-end of Amelia Island, and ride past Amelia Island Plantation!

Tennis on the Plantation

If tennis is your game, you'd be coming to the right resort!  Amelia Island Plantation boasts 23 clay tennis courts, plus fitness center, and  shops.  Each April, the plantation hosts one of the top women's tennis tournaments, the Bausch & Lomb Championship, televised nationally.

On-site Restaurants

Enjoy oceanfront dining at the Ocean Grill in the Amelia Inn, (open Tuesday to Saturday, 6 to 10 pm) -- it will be an elegant evening to remember. For dinner reservations, call 904-261-6161. With a menu of the finest steaks, chops, chef’s specials, a bountiful wine list and lavish selection of desserts, AIP's chefs will amaze you with exotic cuisine.

Also located on Amelia Island Plantation is the Verandah restaurant. Call (904)321-5050 for reservations, located at 3000 First Coast Highway (A1A).  The Verandah is one of the best restaurants (resort, casual) on Amelia Island, with an excellent selection of fresh seafood. 

Also located on Amelia Island Plantation is another excellent restaurant, PLAE (People Laughing and Eating),  located in the Spa & Shops off First Coast Highway, with views of the golf course.  Sophisticated atmosphere, great lounge/bar for cocktails.

Fun Stuff for the Kids to do

"Kid's Camp" is offered for children aged 3-10.  The camp offers full day activities or morning sessions and also afternoon sessions.  Planned activities include nature clinics, games, arts, crafts and more.

"Just For Kids" is a themed dinner party program for children aged 3-10, held March 1 through Labor Day.

Amelia Explorers (for kids aged 11-14) and Teen Adventures (for teens aged 15-19) include activities such as miniature golf, beach volleyball, bowling, water parks, museum tour and more.

Business Conferences

Amelia Island Plantation is a very popular destination for corporate meetings and functions.  If your organization is researching locations for a business conference, the Plantation's  conference facilities offer more than 49,000 square feet of function space.  Amelia Island Plantation can hold conferences, and banquets, accommodating from 20 to 1,000 guests.  The resort is a lovely setting for wedding receptions, and can accommodate large parties.
