Whatever your taste in art, Amelia
Island's
galleries offer a wide array of fine art in varied media -- watercolors,
oils, acrylics, batik, photography, pottery, copper, metal, stained glass,
and more. About a dozen galleries are located in the historic district in
downtown Fernandina Beach. Take a stroll in this historic Victorian
seaport village and browse the works of our local artist colony (see listing of galleries at bottom of page).
Monthly Art Event: First Friday
Gallery Walk, Fernandina Beach, "Art Ragous"
Both local residents and tourists can now enjoy Amelia Island's art
galleries in the evening hours during a monthly walking tour of the
historic district's galleries. This self-guided gallery tour is held the
first Friday evening of each month from 6:00 to 9 pm. Two of the largest galleries on the
walk in downtown Fernandina Beach, are the Art & Antique Center at 702
Centre Street and the Island Art Association at 18 N. 2nd Street. Call the

the art of more than 50 local artists. Offering fine art in most media
including watercolor, acrylics, oils, photography, pottery, stained glass,
mono- types, reproductions and more.

Eileen's Art & Antiques,
702 Centre St. (904)277-2717. Exhibiting the art of both local and
other artists, this large gallery showcases various media.
Collage Studio & Gallery, 12 South 2nd Street. The gallery is a
working studio as well as a retail shop, with a courtyard garden where
you can enjoy a light snack and drink. You can sometimes watch the
artist, Bill Kinney, at work through the studio windows. Kinney makes
decorative glassware and serving pieces called “Squigglez, Curlz, and
Danglez.” The unique items are a combination of glass, wire, and beads.
The studio also features the work of other artists, and items for sale
include garden art, bird houses, patio art, and jewelry. Call
