Tom Jackson. Layout: 18 holes, par-72. Royal Amelia has Tif Eagle grass on the
greens, reportedly the only course in the area to offer this, a "rare
golfing experience." The course offers
both a beautiful setting plus many challenges to test your skill, and
includes three holes which reportedly reflect a "Scottish links"
course. Unlike
other courses on the island, there aren't any homes built around the Royal
Amelia course (as of spring 2006), so it's a very natural setting. OWNERSHIP CHANGE: ROYAL
AMELIA IS NOW OWNED BY THE AMELIA ISLAND PLANTATION. Residential development may eventually come to
Royal Amelia, however, with new ownership of the course.

Amelia National Golf & Country Club-- Tom Fazio signature golf course. Amelia National is the newest
golf course community in the Amelia Island area to offer new homes for
sale. The golf course itself
opened in the spring of 2006. This is a private golf country
club that will offer around 430 memberships to property owners in the
community. In 2006, home/lot packages typically start from the $400s-plus. When
completely built out, there will be
around 749 homes in Amelia National.
